Why This Reference Exists
Tennessee's public-record framework can provide a way to request many records, but the right custodian depends on the stage of a case. An arresting agency may hold an incident report, while the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department handles county jail operations and a court maintains the later case file. A person in state custody is a different matter and may appear through the Tennessee Department of Correction FOIL search. This reference brings those official distinctions together without treating a booking entry as proof of guilt.
Unicoi County does not have a verified official online custody roster or booking-photo feed. That makes the county’s public-record request form especially important for a county booking record or releasable photo.
